The works of Polish composers performed by international artist

The 3rd International Polish Music Competition will take place on July 2-9, 2023 at the Artur Malawski Podkarpacka Philharmonic Hall in Rzeszów. The event is one of the flagship projects of the National Institute of Music and Dance. The competition strives to promote Polish music and its composers internationally.

The participants of the workshops accompanying the International Stanisław Moniuszko Competition of Polish Music in Rzeszów formed a vivid and diverse group, united under the banner of music. They all came from different backgrounds: some were students, others had already graduated, and one was a doctoral student of the Academy of Music in Cracow.

They came, they played, they won – we know the winners of the 2nd International Competition of Polish Music!

Carter Johnson, a young and talented Canadian pianist has won the 2nd Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music in the piano category and there has been no match for the Książek Piano Duo (Agnieszka Zahaczewska-Książek and Krzysztof Książek) in the chamber ensemble category. The Awards Ceremony and the Prize Winners Concert will take place on 18 September at 7pm CET at the Artur Malawski Podkarpacka Philharmonic Hall in Rzeszów.

The soloists and the volatile orchestra [REVIEW]

The first instalment of the Competition finals in the piano category has drawn to a close. The soloists were accompanied by the Artur Malawski Subcarpathian Philharmonic Orchestra in Rzeszów under the batons of Massimiliano Caldi and Tomasz Chmiel. Performing on the piano were Ivan Shemchuk, Michał Karol Szymanowski, Adam Mikołaj Goździewski, and Mikołaj Sikała.
